Story
Synopsis
For a thousand years, the colossal Dark Beast Lord Clevatess has slumbered in secluded majesty, indifferent to the mortal realms. His tranquility is shattered when thirteen human heroes, brandishing royal weaponry, invade his domain in an arrogant attempt to slay him. Annoyed by human arrogance, Clevatess easily slaughters the expedition and unleashes catastrophic retribution against the neighboring human kingdom. Amid the smoldering ruins of the royal palace, a dying survivor implores him to protect an innocent newborn baby named Luna. Intrigued by the infant and seeking to determine whether humankind deserves salvation or total eradication, Clevatess chooses to raise the child.
⚠ Background — may contain spoilers
To assist in nurturing the fragile infant and navigating human society, Clevatess resurrects Alicia Glenfall, a courageous swordswoman he had previously executed during the heroes' raid. Bound to the beast lord through an infusion of his demonic blood, Alicia becomes an immortal undead protector struggling between her enduring heroic ideals and her forced subservience to a terrifying monster. Taking human disguise under the name Clen, Clevatess embarks across the continent with Alicia and baby Luna, observing human compassion, treachery, and cruelty firsthand as political factions and rogue monsters pursue the miraculous child.
