Story

Synopsis

In a continent where every human being possesses the natural magical ability to manipulate quartz crystals, Rygart Arrow is born an un-sorcerer, entirely incapable of operating standard machinery. His unique biological quirk allows him to pilot the Delphine, an ancient, fuel-less heavy combat golem excavated from forgotten underground ruins. As the imperial Athens Commonwealth invades his homeland of Krisna, Rygart must fight on the front lines to defend King Hodr and Queen Sigyn. His loyalties are torn when the enemy vanguard is led by his former military academy friend Zess, who is determined to force Krisna's capitulation.

⚠ Background — may contain spoilers
Zess launches an assault against Krisna's capital, hoping to capture King Hodr and force a swift treaty before total war annihilates the kingdom. Rygart intercepts Zess's elite squad using the newly armored Delphine, engaging in a savage, grinding duel in the city outskirts. When Zess's subordinate Cleo is captured and another comrade is slain, Rygart disable's Zess's heavy golem with an immense blade strike, severing its power lines. Spared by Rygart, a wounded Zess is forced to retreat, mourning his fallen men while recognizing that wartime brutality has permanently destroyed their idyllic schoolboy friendship.
