Story

Synopsis

The second Roselia film follows the band as they pursue the goal that has defined them since forming, with Yukina Minato's uncompromising standards putting continuous strain on members who have their own lives and limits. Internal tensions that the first film established come to a head, forcing each member to decide what she is actually willing to sacrifice. The performances are the centerpiece, and the film treats the band's ambition as something genuinely costly rather than straightforwardly inspiring. Every rehearsal exposes another fault line running through the group's shared ambition.

Part of the extensive BanG Dream multimedia franchise built around Bushiroad's rhythm game, the Roselia films focus on the franchise's most serious and musically intense band. The franchise is notable for having its voice actresses perform as real working bands, with genuine concerts and chart-performing releases, which gives the animated performances an unusual grounding. Roselia in particular built a substantial following through live performance, and these films were produced to give that fanbase a proper narrative arc on screen. Its live performance foundation gives the animated concert sequences unusual credibility.
