Synopsis

Long ago, the world experienced only winter, a harsh existence until the season could no longer bear the loneliness and bestowed three portions of life to create spring, summer, and autumn. In order to govern the natural cycle, divine humans known as the Agents of the Four Seasons and their protective beast guardians were appointed to manifest the changes of nature. However, after the Spring Agent vanished for a decade, the natural order suffered catastrophic imbalance. When she finally reawakens, she must confront simmering political conspiracies and bitter emotional wounds alongside her fiercely devoted protector.

Background (may contain spoilers)

Animated by Studio Bind, *Shunkashuutou Daikousha: Haru no Mai* adapts the fantasy light novel series written by Kana Akatsuki, celebrated author of Violet Evergarden, with original illustrations by Suou. Announced as a major television production, the project reunites staff known for meticulous worldbuilding and emotional storytelling. The narrative structure explores ornate historical aesthetics, blending delicate interpersonal relationships with dramatic political intrigue among the seasonal courts. The adaptation showcases high-fidelity character art, intricate architectural designs, and evocative environmental lighting, highlighting Studio Bind's commitment to expressive fantasy animation.
