A Letter to Momo
Momo e no Tegami · 2012
A grieving girl discovers three clumsy guardian yokai.
Synopsis
Directed by Hiroyuki Okiura, this heartwarming animated drama follows eleven-year-old Momo Miyaura, who moves with her mother from Tokyo to a tranquil remote island in the Seto Inland Sea following her father's sudden death. Racked with guilt over an angry argument she had with her father before he died at sea, Momo clutches an unfinished letter he left behind bearing only the words Dear Momo. While struggling to adjust to rural island life, Momo discovers three bizarre, mischievous yokai spirits living in her attic, Kawa, Mame, and Iwa, who have descended from heaven to watch over her.

If you find the pacing somewhat slow at the beginning, just sit back and let the eye-candy entertain you until the main plot kicks in.
