Biography
Tomoyuki Kitamura is a Japanese animator and animation director whose more than 400 recorded credits span two decades of television anime [1]. He has served as animation director on Kingdom, Ousama Ranking, Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo!, and Boku no Kokoro no Yabai Yatsu, and as key animator on Angel Beats!, Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion, and 3-gatsu no Lion [1]. His broader filmography includes key animation work on Attack on Titan, Bleach, My Hero Academia, Kuroko's Basketball, and Tokyo Ghoul [1]. Before his animation career, Kitamura worked as a video game programmer, credited on Koei's Dynasty Warriors 2 and as main programmer on Samurai Warriors: Katana, along with programming work on Samurai Warriors 2 and Samurai Warriors: Xtreme Legends [1]. That dual background in programming and animation direction is unusual in the industry, though public information about how his career shifted between the two fields could not be found.
