Biography
Yoshitaka Fujimoto is a Japanese anime director and storyboard artist born in 1964 in Kumamoto Prefecture [1][2]. Across a career spanning the late 1980s into the 2020s he has worked mainly as episode director and storyboard artist on long-running action and adventure series, including a run of episodes on the original Pokemon anime that he both storyboarded and directed [3]. As a director in his own right he has helmed episodes and OVAs including Macross 7, Starship Troopers, Earth Maiden Arjuna, Girl's High, Cyber Team in Akihabara, and Master of Martial Hearts [2], generally working in youth-oriented action and adventure titles. His more recent credits include storyboard and episode-direction work on Baki, Yuragisou no Yuuna-san, and Cardfight!! Vanguard [1]. Fujimoto's career centers on episode-level craft rather than headline directing, and detailed biographical material about him beyond his production credits is limited.
