Story
Synopsis
Cherry is an introverted boy who wears headphones to avoid talking to people, pouring his unspoken thoughts into haiku. Smile is an energetic online influencer who wears a face mask to conceal her large front teeth and braces. A clumsy collision at a suburban shopping mall brings them together, sparking an endearing friendship. When they volunteer at a local senior day center, they learn that an elderly patron named Fujiyama is searching for a rare vinyl record that preserves the voice of his late wife. Teaming up to find the disc, both teenagers gradually open their hearts.

During the climactic summer fireworks festival, Cherry finally confronts his crippling social anxiety in front of the entire community. Taking off his headphones, he grabs the stage microphone and recites an original haiku confession declaring his deep feelings for Smile. He openly celebrates her hidden smile and buck teeth, assuring her that she has no reason to hide behind a mask. Smile bursts into happy tears and removes her mask, returning his affection in a joyful resolution that brings Fujiyama's musical search and the young couple's romantic journey to an emotionally satisfying ending.
