Story

Synopsis

In the year 2142, global ecological collapse and devastating pollution have wiped out civilization, blanketing Earth in eternal acid rain. In the midst of the wasteland sits Ecoban, a towering domed megacity that generates energy by harvesting toxic atmospheric contaminants. While an elite aristocracy lives in luxury, thousands of desperate refugees, known as Diggers, endure brutal forced labor outside the walls. When childhood friends Shua and Jay find themselves on opposite sides of a brewing revolution, their tragic romantic reunion sparks a rebellion. Shua infiltrates Ecoban's mainframe, risking his life to tear down the city and reveal blue sky.

THEM Anime Reviews

Jeremy A Beard 2003

While technically superb and overall a good science fiction action piece, slightly weak character development of the leads keeps this from achieving the fifth star. If you really don't care about character development, feel free to add a star. If you don't like action movies or movies with environmental/political messages, subtract a star.
