Story

Synopsis

Drawing inspiration from the beloved Chinese folktale The Legend of the White Snake, this lavishly animated fantasy takes place during the late Tang Dynasty, when an oppressive imperial general commands peasants to harvest magical snakes for immortality elixirs. A powerful white snake demon named Blanca is sent to assassinate the general, but loses her memories during an intense magical battle. Rescued by Xuan, a compassionate snake catcher from a rural village, Blanca embarks on a mystical quest with him to recover her past identity, pursued by rival demon factions and imperial sorcerers.

Blanca discovers her demonic serpent nature, but Xuan's love never wavers. To be with Blanca, Xuan voluntarily sacrifices his human soul at the Jade Workshop, transforming himself into the lowest demonic creature. When Blanca is manipulated into a monstrous giant serpent by her treacherous demon master, Xuan creates a magical Taoist array to absorb the lethal curse. Xuan freezes to death inside the collapsing cavern while holding Blanca's hand. Five hundred years later, a reincarnated Xuan meets Blanca on the West Lake bridge in modern Hangzhou, reigniting their eternal love.
