Synopsis

Minare Koda is a fiery twenty-six-year-old Sapporo waitress whose romantic life spirals after her boyfriend steals her savings and dumps her. During an evening of heavy drinking, she unleashes an unfiltered, hilarious tirade about her catastrophic breakup to an attentive older man at a local tavern. That man happens to be Kanetsugu Matou, the director of a popular local radio station. When Matou secretly broadcasts her drunken rant live on air, Minare storms into the studio to complain, only to get shoved behind the microphone. Her chaotic storytelling immediately electrifies late-night listeners across Hokkaido.

⚠ Background — may contain spoilers
Sunrise animated this television adaptation based on the popular manga series by Hiroaki Samura, the celebrated creator of *Blade of the Immortal*. Directed by Tatsuma Minamikawa and written by Shouji Yonemura, the twelve-episode comedy broadcast during the spring 2020 anime season. Lead voice actress Riho Sugiyama received immense critical praise for her breathless, machine-gun vocal performance as Minare Koda, navigating rapid-fire dialogue and emotionally volatile monologues. The production faithfully captured the quirky urban culture of Sapporo while delivering an authentic, behind-the-scenes glimpse into regional Japanese talk-radio broadcasting culture.
