Synopsis

In this delightful slice-of-life theatrical feature, shy college student and talented baker Miyako Hoshino accompanies her energetic younger sister Hinata and their adorable circle of elementary school friends, including Hana Shirosaki, Noa Himesaka, Koyori Tanemura, and Kanon Konomori, on an unforgettable summer vacation trip to Hana's grandmother's countryside home. Eager to treat Hana to delicious homemade sweets and take cute photographs, Miyako navigates rural train journeys, scenic nature walks, and local summer festivals, while the girls enjoy splashing in clear country streams and discovering charming rural customs together.

⚠ Background — may contain spoilers
During the countryside retreat, the girls participate in a traditional village festival, wearing colorful summer yukatas and sampling festival delicacies. Hana, who is typically aloof and solely motivated by Miyako's gourmet sweets, secretly enters a village festival drawing contest to win a special handcrafted hair ornament as a surprise thank-you gift for Miyako. When Hana presents the gift under the glowing festival lanterns, an overwhelmed Miyako bursts into happy tears. The film concludes with the girls singing a joyful song on the train ride home, celebrating their sweet, enduring friendships.
