Country girl Haruka Nanami dreams of composing music for her idol inspiration, the charismatic pop singer Hayato. Overcoming immense competitive odds, Haruka gains entrance into the prestigious Saotome Academy, an elite conservatory for aspiring pop idols and composers. Paired with exceptionally talented male classmates, including fiery rocker Otoya Ittoki, brooding prodigy Tokiya Ichinose, and elegant pianist Masato Hijirikawa, Haruka must compose hit songs while adhering to the academy's strict forbidden romance policy. Overcoming personal insecurities and creative obstacles, the young artists form the supergroup ST☆RISH, striving for their grand debut.

Sparkling production helps it along and its appeal to its target market is clear, but that doesn't really excuse some lamentable moments of script writing and plot progression.
