Story

Synopsis

High school student Basara Toujou is shocked when his eccentric father suddenly remarries and introduces two new stepsisters, Mio and Maria Naruse, before departing abroad. In reality, Mio is the biological daughter and rightful heir to the deceased Demon Lord, while Maria is a mischievous succubus guardian. When hostile demonic assassins launch assaults to eliminate Mio and claim her father's powers, Basara reveals his secret heritage as an exiled hero clan warrior. Forming an accidental magical master-servant pact with Mio, Basara must wield his cursed Banishing Shift sword to defend his provocative demon stepsisters.

⚠ Background — may contain spoilers
Adapted from Tetsuto Uesu's light novel series illustrated by Nekosuke Okuma, *The Testament of Sister New Devil* was animated by Production IMS and broadcast in January 2015. Directed by Hisashi Saito, the twelve-episode television series gained a passionate following among fans of supernatural action and high-intensity ecchi fantasy. The production gained notoriety for its boundary-pushing intimate pact scenes, stylized demonic combat choreography, and surprisingly intricate hero-clan mythology, resulting in multiple subsequent sequels and theatrical OVA releases.
