Story

Synopsis

Serving as an artistic, non-linear recap film screened in theaters prior to the release of Chapter 7: A Study in Murder (Part 2), this feature restructures the events of the first six chapters into a chronological and thematic tapestry. Directed by ufotable, the remix weaves together Shiki Ryougi's awakening from her two-year coma, her bond with Mikiya Kokutou, and her encounters with magical adversaries manipulated by the sorcerer Souren Araya. Accompanied by Kalafina's evocative score, the film re-examines the philosophical nature of murder, human impulses, and the Origin that defines Shiki's fractured soul.

The remix contextualizes how Souren Araya orchestrated the tragic lives of Kirie Fujijo, Fujino Asagami, and Cornelius Alba to construct the Taiji spiral within the Ogawa apartment complex, seeking to breach the Root through Shiki's empty vessel. Shiki's dual personalities, the feminine Shiki and masculine SHIKI, are examined alongside her mystical eyes. The film builds toward the climactic realization that the mysterious serial murders from Shiki's high school past were never committed by her, setting up the impending final confrontation against the resurrected psychopath Lio Shirazumi.
