Story

Synopsis

Directed by Yoshimi Itazu and animated by Production I.G, this whimsical comedy-drama takes place at the Arctic Department Store, a luxurious, retro-styled commercial emporium where all the customers are animals, and all the floor staff are human. Eager but clumsy rookie Akino begins her training as a floor concierge, determined to anticipate every patron's eccentric desire. However, the store's most prestigious guests are the V.I.A. (Very Important Animals), who are rare extinct species, including a sea mink searching for a gift, a Barbary lion contemplating a proposal, and a dodo bird seeking culinary perfection.

⚠ Background — may contain spoilers
Akino's clumsy enthusiasm initially causes chaotic mishaps on the department store floor, earning gentle reprimands from floor manager Todo and mysterious store president Elulu. However, Akino's genuine empathy touches the hearts of the extinct animal customers, helping the anxious Barbary lion successfully propose to his beloved with a handpicked perfume. During the store's grand centennial exhibition, Akino coordinates a breathtaking floral display for a grieving woolly mammoth sculptor. Acknowledged as a fully qualified professional concierge, Akino smiles proudly, dedicated to bringing happiness to every creature who walks through the doors.
