Synopsis
In an impoverished mountain village enduring devastating famine, energetic yet lazy youth Taro spends his days wrestling forest beasts. After learning from his dying grandmother that his long-lost mother was transformed into a fearsome dragon as punishment for eating forbidden communal fish to survive pregnancy, Taro vows to find her. Venturing across mystical landscapes, Taro outsmarts deceptive mountain demons and befriends the magical flute player Aya. Reaching the distant glacial lake where his sorrowful mother resides, Taro unyielding love and communal selflessness break the ancient curse, irrigating his drought-stricken homeland.
