On the artificial island of Itogami, high school student Kojou Akatsuki unexpectedly inherits the cataclysmic blood and powers of the Fourth Primogenitor, the world's most fearsome vampire. Fearing his world-ending potential, the Lion King Syndicate dispatches novice sword shaman Yukina Himeragi to observe him and eliminate him if he goes rogue. Armed with an anti-vampire spear and living right next door, Yukina becomes Kojou's reluctant partner as rogue mages, mechanical terrorists, and ancient deities threaten their demon sanctuary. To unlock his familiars, Kojou must feed on Yukina's blood, deepening their supernatural bond.

Despite its overall lack of freshness, this action-oriented harem series executes well enough in centering on its fledgling vampire lead that it still proves plenty entertaining.
