Synopsis

In the nineteenth century of the cosmic era, humanity survives the catastrophic electromagnetic pulse of a nearby supernova known as the First Wave. Preparing for the second and far deadlier cosmic impact expected ninety-nine years later, the united planetary defense system establishes massive orbital training stations. Shy programming prodigy Shima Katase enrolls at the space academy station Stellvia, striving to become an elite pilot for advanced cosmic defense ships. Struggling with self-doubt, academic pressure, and high-altitude flight mechanics, Shima finds courage through the loyalty of classmates as the apocalyptic cosmic wave approaches.
