Synopsis
Deep within Gunma prefecture, a team of eccentric culinary superheroes known as the Sukiyaki Force defends local agricultural peace and gastronomic harmony against the villainous Kirai League. Composed of heroes personified by famous regional sukiyaki ingredients, including Joshu beef, Shimonita leeks, konjac noodles, and shiitake mushrooms, the squad confronts absurd dietary emergencies with sentai theatricality. However, their heroic battles regularly derail into petty domestic disputes, regional trivia arguments, and hilarious culinary critiques. Through bizarre slapstick combat and heartfelt regional pride, the delicious sentai squad protects Gunma from gastronomic ruin.
Background (may contain spoilers)
Produced by legendary animation studio Studio 4°C in collaboration with Gunma Television, *Sentai Hero Sukiyaki Force: Gunma no Heiwa wo Negau Season* aired in 2017 as a sixty-episode short-form comedy series. Directed by Takahiro Tanaka, the anime playfully parodies classic Tokusatsu superhero conventions while promoting Gunma prefecture's signature agricultural produce and tourism landmarks. Featuring an eclectic art direction, fast-paced voice acting, and eccentric surrealist gags, the project stands as one of Studio 4°C's most delightfully bizarre regional promotional endeavors.
