Story

Synopsis

In a post-apocalyptic Japan devastated by the Rust Wind, a plague that oxidizes metallic structures and slowly crystallizes human flesh into rust, Mushroom Guardians are widely blamed and hunted as ecological terrorists. Bisco Akaboshi, a ferocious outlaw archer who sprouts gigantic fungal blooms with his arrows, partners with kind doctor Milo Nekoyanagi to find the mythical Sabikui mushroom, a legendary organism rumored to consume all forms of rust. Riding an enormous armored crab named Actagawa, the unlikely duo traverses perilous wastelands, battling government warlords and grotesque desert abominations in a high-octane quest to cure humanity.
