Synopsis

After suffering an untimely death in modern Japan, elite esper Tomokui Kanata awakens reincarnated in a savage fantasy wilderness as Gobrou, a frail newborn goblin belonging to the weakest monster race. However, Gobrou retains all memories of his previous life along with his unique supernatural ability: Absorption, which allows him to acquire the physical attributes, elemental spells, and combat skills of whatever creature he consumes. Armed with this monstrous evolutionary cheat, Gobrou hunts larger beasts, develops rudimentary weapons, and unites his goblin tribe, rapidly evolving into a hobgoblin, ogre, and supreme battlefield warlord.

⚠ Background — may contain spoilers
Adapted from the foundational pioneer isekai light novel series written by Kogitsune Kanekiru and illustrated by Yamaada, the anime television series was produced by Studio Deen under the direction of Takayuki Inagaki. Known for its unapologetic survival-of-the-fittest ethos and game-like evolutionary progression tree, the story chronicles Gobrou's ruthless rise from a hunted cavern creature to the sovereign commander of a mighty mercenary empire.
