Story

Synopsis

In a magical realm nestled in an enchanted forest, young sisters Yoyo and Nene operate a charming magical curse-breaking business. Their peaceful lives are upended when enormous, otherworldly modern high-rise buildings materialize out of nowhere inside their fantasy forest. While investigating the anomaly, Yoyo is sucked through a magical portal and lands in contemporary Yokohama. There, she discovers that human beings are turning into bizarre gelatinous monsters due to a mysterious environmental curse. Aided by two local schoolboys named Takahiro and Aki, Yoyo sets out to cure the afflicted citizens.

⚠ Background — may contain spoilers
Yoyo discovers that the dimensional merger is triggered by Takahiro's father, who inadvertently channeled ancient internet gaming curses while grieving for his comatose wife. The curse manifests as a colossal dark vortex threatening to dissolve both worlds into oblivion. In a breathtaking climax, Nene channels magical energy from the fantasy world while Yoyo rallies Takahiro and the modernized citizens of Yokohama. Yoyo flies into the heart of the curse, using her signature cleansing spell to purify the dark energy. The worlds separate safely, Takahiro's mother awakens, and Yoyo returns home with fond memories of modern civilization.
