Arvo Animation produced this television anime adaptation based on the critically acclaimed seinen manga written and illustrated by Jun Mayuzuki, famous for *After the Rain*. The series premiered in 2025, offering a rich exploration of psychological mystery and adult romance set within a stylized reimagining of Hong Kong's famous demolished slum. Production staff took meticulous care in recreating the dense architectural textures and vintage atmosphere of the real-world Kowloon Walled City. The manga earned widespread recognition in Japan, including high rankings on the prestigious Kono Manga ga Sugoi! guidebook list for male readers.
A terrific setup that never reaches its potential, it is nonetheless a worthy experiment with a memorable cast of characters that it's hard not to fall in love with.
