Story
Synopsis
The second-year students of their high school prepare for the annual cultural festival, with Shinobu Omiya's class assigned to stage an ambitious theatrical fairy tale play. Determined to make the production a success, Shinobu takes on the demanding dual roles of head scriptwriter and costume designer, working tirelessly through the night to sew elaborate dresses. Her close circle of friends, Alice Cartelet, Aya Komichi, Yoko Inokuma, and Karen Kujo, notice Shinobu's mounting exhaustion and step in to help. The film also delves into middle school flashbacks, revealing how Shinobu, Aya, and Yoko first met.
⚠ Background — may contain spoilers
Flashbacks reveal that in middle school, Aya was painfully shy and socially isolated until Yoko and Shinobu warmly befriended her, helping Aya overcome her social anxiety. In the present, Shinobu collapses from fever and sleep deprivation on the eve of the festival. Refusing to let Shinobu's hard work go to waste, Alice, Aya, Yoko, and Karen pull an all-nighter to finish the remaining costume sewing and rehearse the stage lines. The play is performed to roaring applause from the student body, and Shinobu tearfully thanks her friends for their unwavering love.
