Story

Synopsis

In a modern Japan overseen by seven supernatural Kings who command unique elemental auras and loyal clansmen, peaceful high schooler Yashiro Isana leads a tranquil life on an isolated island campus. His peaceful world shatters when a viral video depicts him assassinating a member of the ferocious red clan HOMRA. Suddenly hunted by bloodthirsty red clansmen and the disciplined blue clan Scepter 4, Yashiro maintains he is innocent despite having no memory of the incident. Rescued by Kuroh Yatogami, a wandering swordsman, Yashiro must uncover his true identity before all-out gang warfare destroys the city.

Premiering in October 2012 and running for thirteen episodes, *K* was produced by studio GoHands and directed by Hiromichi Kanazawa and Shingo Suzuki, with original story by the GoRA creator group. Renowned for its distinctive high-contrast visual filters, kinetic acrobatic camera angles, and fluid parkour combat choreography, the series was a visual feast for action fans. Composed by Mikio Endo with an atmospheric blend of piano and driving electronic beats, the production established a major multimedia franchise.
