Synopsis

Love takes manifold unexpected forms throughout everyday life, leaving behind bittersweet memories and tender vulnerabilities. This delicate omnibus narrative follows three interconnected tales of modern romance and quiet longing. In the first chapter, two young women meet at the wedding of their mutual female ex-lover, discovering unexpected emotional solace in each other. In the second, an earnest high school teacher navigates a surprising romantic confession from a male student. In the final story, two childhood friends confront complex physical and emotional changes during puberty, gently embracing the messy awkwardness of maturing desire.

Liden Films produced this sensitive fifty-four-minute theatrical anthology film, which was released in Japanese cinemas in October 2020. Directed by Takuya Satou, acclaimed for *Kase-san and Morning Glories*, the film features scripts co-written by Satou, Yasunori Ide, and Yoriko Tomita. The project faithfully adapted the evocative short manga stories created by Takako Shimura, celebrated for *Hourou Musuko* and *Aoi Hana*. The indie-rock band CreepHyp composed the film's gentle soundtrack and acoustic theme song, earning strong praise for complementing Shimura's nuanced, non-judgmental portrayals of diverse sexualities and human relationships.
