Story
Synopsis
For centuries, two neighboring nations have maintained a bitter border rivalry: Alhamit, the wealthy but water-starved Gold Kingdom, and Baikali, the impoverished but verdant Water Kingdom. To preserve fragile diplomatic peace, the gods decreed that Alhamit would marry its most beautiful woman to Baikali's cleverest man. However, Alhamit deceitfully sends a small kitten, while Baikali sends a puppy. When Alhamit's plump, gentle princess Sarah meets Baikali's laid-back, intelligent engineer Naranbayar, the two outcasts agree to pretend to be a happily married couple to prevent warmongering generals from igniting a catastrophic war.

Sarah and Naranbayar work together to construct a massive aqueduct canal system linking the two kingdoms, demonstrating that mutual cooperation can solve Baikali's poverty and Alhamit's drought. War hawks in Alhamit led by Minister Saladin attempt to assassinate Naranbayar to force an invasion. Sarah and Naranbayar publicly confess their genuine love before the assembled court, winning over the King of Alhamit and the people of both nations. The border walls are dismantled, the water canal flows freely, and Sarah and Naranbayar marry in an extravagant joint celebration.
