Synopsis

A mysterious old sorcerer named Hoi tricks Gohan and Videl into summoning Shenron to open an enchanted music box, releasing an alien warrior named Tapion. Far from rejoicing, Tapion is horrified because his own body serves as a mystical prison for the lower half of the apocalyptic demon Hirudegarn. As Hoi unleashes Hirudegarn's upper torso upon Satan City, young Trunks forms a tender brotherhood with the tormented hero, offering him food and shelter. When both halves of the monster inevitably merge, the Z Fighters face an ethereal monstrosity immune to physical blows.

⚠ Background — may contain spoilers
Hirudegarn attains its winged final form, easily repelling Gotenks, Ultimate Gohan, and Vegeta. Tapion attempts to play his mystical ocarina to seal the entire beast inside himself and begs Trunks to slay him with his enchanted broadsword. Trunks hesitates, allowing Hirudegarn to shatter the flute. Stepping forward in Super Saiyan 3, Goku analyzes Hirudegarn's vulnerability, baiting the creature into striking so its body solidifies. Goku unleashes his devastating original ultimate technique, the Dragon Fist, piercing Hirudegarn's chest with a colossal golden dragon. Before departing in a time machine, Tapion gifts his iconic sword to Trunks.
