Synopsis

Desperate to impress his boastful classmates, Nobita wagers that he can excavate a complete dinosaur fossil. Miraculously digging up an ancient oval stone, Nobita uses Doraemon's Time Cloth to restore the egg to its prehistoric state, hatching a sweet baby plesiosaur named Piisuke. Nobita raises Piisuke with secret devotion, feeding him sashimi until the aquatic reptile grows far too massive for neighborhood ponds. To ensure Piisuke's welfare, Nobita and Doraemon travel back one hundred million years to the Cretaceous period, but accidentally deposit Piisuke on the prehistoric American continent instead of Japan.

⚠ Background — may contain spoilers
Pursued by ruthless futuristic dinosaur poachers led by billionaire Black Mask, Nobita and his friends embark on a perilous cross-continental trek toward prehistoric Japan so Piisuke can rejoin his native pod. When the poachers capture Piisuke and destroy Doraemon's time machine, the children execute a daring infiltration of the villain's mechanical fortress using shrinking gas. With assistance from the Time Patrol, the syndicate is arrested. Reaching the ancient sea, Nobita tearfully bids farewell to Piisuke as the plesiosaur swims joyfully away with a pod of fellow Futabasaurus.
