Synopsis

An unexpected rupture across temporal barriers sends dangerous ripples throughout the Digital World, entangling digital monsters and human tamers in a mysterious chronological crisis. When strange chronological distortions destabilize safe zones, a group of brave partners must investigate enigmatic phenomena that alter memories and prehistoric data lines. Guided by rare Digimon allies possessing ancient elemental affinities, they navigate uncharted computational landscapes to prevent a timeline collapse. Facing aggressive adversaries warped by corrupted temporal energy, the team must unlock hidden cybernetic secrets to restore historical equilibrium.

Background (may contain spoilers)

Produced by Toei Animation as an animated prologue for Bandai Namco's expansive role-playing video game universe, *Digimon Story: Time Stranger Prelude* provides canonical narrative backstory linking historical lore with modern franchise mythos. The production utilizes sharp digital cell animation blended with dynamic computer-generated special effects during signature digital evolution sequences. Supervised by seasoned franchise producers, the animated short serves to introduce key characters, legendary creatures, and foundational cosmological conflicts explored across the video game campaign, delighting longtime fans of the storied monster-taming franchise.
