Story
Synopsis
Ryo Saeba, the peerless sweeper of Shinjuku, is hired by celebrated European pianist Nina Shtolzenberg to locate her grandfather, a retired intelligence officer who vanished shortly after arriving in Japan. While Ryo cannot resist playfully flirting with his beautiful client, his partner Kaori Makimura keeps him in check with her trademark heavy mallets. The investigation escalates dramatically when a shadowy foreign military syndicate called the Klausner Republic launches armed assaults against Nina. Ryo quickly discovers that the pianist is an unwitting pawn in an international weapons conspiracy targeting Tokyo.
⚠ Background — may contain spoilers
Ryo discovers that Nina's grandfather hid a secret microchip inside Nina's prized cello, containing classified schematics for an automated tactical laser defense system. Klausner Republic agents storm the concert hall during Nina's performance, holding the audience hostage to seize the instrument. Ryo infiltrates the theater rafters, systematically dismantling the terrorist unit with pinpoint shots from his signature Colt Python .357 Magnum. Ryo eliminates the enemy commander, returns the recovered cello safely to Nina, and allows her to perform her triumphant concert without realizing how narrowly she escaped death.
