Tezuka's Buddha starts with a prince, a slave, and a war between two kingdoms.
Synopsis
Prince Siddhartha is heir to the kingdom of Shakya, which is always at war with the more powerful kingdom of Kosala. His father tries to raise him as a warrior and shield him from the world's miseries. Then Siddhartha meets Migaila, an outcast girl, and experiences love for the first time while seeing how much people suffer. In Kosala, meanwhile, Chapra, who was born a slave, rises through the army to become a general. A final showdown between the two kingdoms forces Siddhartha to rethink the path he is on.
