Synopsis

In 1969 Tokyo, cheerful orphan girl Marin Asagi lives happily with her adoptive family in a modest downtown tenement. Her peaceful daily life shatters when the sky tears open, revealing a bizarre alternate planet named Brigadoon. As hostile extraterrestrial automatons invade Tokyo, Marin is saved by Melan Blue, an honorable alien bio-mechanical gunner emerging from a mystical blue capsule. Tasked with protecting Marin as the key to universal stabilization, Melan defends her against relentless dimensional pursuers, forging a touching bond of friendship amidst prejudice, political oppression, and sorrow.
