Story

Synopsis

After years of arduous training and world-saving heroics, the momentous morning has finally arrived: Naruto Uzumaki is set to be officially inaugurated as the Seventh Hokage before the entire Hidden Leaf Village. However, chaos erupts at home when Boruto and his sweet young sister Himawari get into a fierce tug-of-war over a stuffed panda toy, ripping it in half. Traumatized and enraged, Himawari unexpectedly awakens her Byakugan and strikes with lethal Gentle Fist precision, accidentally knocking Naruto unconscious. With the grand village ceremony underway and the new Hokage incapacitated, Konohamaru must desperately improvise to save the day.

⚠ Background — may contain spoilers
Bundled as an exclusive OVA with the limited-edition home video release of *Boruto: Naruto the Movie* in July 2016, *Boruto: Naruto the Movie - The Day Naruto Became Hokage* was animated by Studio Pierrot. Adapted directly from Masashi Kishimoto's original manga one-shot, the ten-minute special delivers a hilarious, heartwarming look at the Uzumaki household's domestic dynamics. The short quickly achieved legendary status among fans for demonstrating young Himawari's terrifying innate Hyuga power and providing a delightfully comedic contrast to Naruto's historic lifetime ambition.
