Synopsis

Adult life has settled into predictable routines for Hayato Kobayashi, yet he remains haunted by memories of his high school days and his unspoken feelings for his close classmate Ritsu Onishi. When a chance encounter brings the two estranged men face to face years later, the emotional chemistry between them immediately reignites. Realizing that both have spent their young adult years regretting what might have been, Hayato proposes an unconventional pact: to experience their lost youth together once again. Navigating lingering insecurities, workplace obligations, and delicate confessions, the two companions tentatively explore genuine intimacy.

Background (may contain spoilers)

Adapted from Toworu Miyata's boys love manga serialized in ShuCream's digital magazine *from RED*, *Aoharu Once More* was announced as a light anime production helmed by Imageworks Studio and Imagica Infos under the BALLOON romance label. Directed by Rikako Machida with music composed by Morrigan, the adaptation translates the delicate emotional pacing and expressive character artistry of the original single-volume manga. The project resonates with fans of adult romance by offering a tender, grounded examination of second chances, emotional maturity, and the vulnerability of rekindling unexpressed youthful affection.
