Story
Synopsis
In an anarchic, feudal futuristic Japan where mythical martial arts clash with cybernetic weaponry, ultimate power belongs to whoever wears the Number One Headband, said to grant godlike dominion. After witnessing his father Rokutaro decapitated by the ruthless gunslinger Justice for the headband, young Afro dedicates his life to ruthless swordsmanship to claim the Number Two Headband, the only warrior permitted to challenge the Number One. Wandering a desolate wasteland alongside his manic imaginary companion Ninja Ninja, Afro slices through bounty hunters, android assassins, and the demonic Empty Seven Clan.
⚠ Background — may contain spoilers
Afro arrives at Mount Shumi, where the Empty Seven Clan pit him against an android combat clone of his deceased childhood mentor Sword Master. Slaying the cyborg, Afro confronts Justice inside a cavern decorated with the severed heads of former warriors. Justice reveals that wearing the Number One Headband requires endless bloodshed and moral damnation. In a lightning-fast duel of reflexes, Afro slices Justice's body into pieces, avenging his father and claiming the Number One Headband. Solitary and hollowed by vengeance, Afro prepares to face a new generation of challengers.
