Story

Synopsis

Three thousand years after the mythological Battle of the Gods, the divine rebel Nezha continues his cycle of reincarnation in the dieselpunk metropolis of Donghai City. Li Yunxiang is a hotheaded motorcycle smuggler delivering scarce freshwater to impoverished shantytowns controlled by the ruthless De Clan syndicate. When the arrogant third prince of the De Clan attempts to seize Yunxiang's modified motorbike, Yunxiang's dormant divine fire erupts in a burst of destructive energy. Branded an outlaw, Yunxiang discovers that the De Clan are actually the ancient Dragon Kings of the East Sea, seeking to eradicate Nezha's reincarnated soul.

The Dragon King of the East Sea unleashes a subterranean ocean tsunami to drown Donghai City and harvest Yunxiang's primordial fire ribbon. Aided by the mysterious Six-Eared Macaque, Yunxiang confronts his violent past incarnations and masters Nezha's colossal flaming avatar. In an epic deep-sea confrontation, Yunxiang slays the Dragon Prince and crushes the Dragon King beneath his flaming spear, releasing the monopolized water supply back to the citizens. Yunxiang permanently breaks the cycle of cosmic vengeance, choosing to use his divine power to rebuild Donghai City alongside his friends.
