Synopsis

High schoolers Aimi and Nami seem like polar opposites in personality and social circles, yet they share one intense private passion: unyielding romantic admiration for their aloof, effortlessly handsome classmate Kirio. Rather than becoming bitter romantic adversaries, the two observant girls form a secret two-person fan club to catalog Kirio everyday habits, eccentric reactions, and subtle facial expressions. Their clandestine mutual stakeouts foster an unexpectedly profound female friendship, blending enthusiastic detective work, comedic overthinking, and poignant emotional honesty as they navigate the bittersweet waters of adolescent infatuation.

Background (may contain spoilers)

Based on the school comedy manga created by Chikako Mitsuhashi and serialized in Comic Beam, *Kirio Fan Club* was produced as an animated television series by studio Satelight. Directed by Shinpei Ezaki with series composition by Taku Kishimoto, the production captures the hilarious absurdities and heartfelt vulnerabilities of teenage obsession. Focusing heavily on expressive dialogue and the comedic chemistry between its two female protagonists, the anime presents a refreshing, empathetic twist on conventional school romance narratives.
