Story
Synopsis
Yearning for a carefree paradise where school examinations, sports failures, and parental scolding do not exist, Nobita searches the skies for Paradapia, a fabled floating crescent island where everyone lives in perfect harmony. Flying aboard the Time Zeppelin with Doraemon, Shizuka, Gian, and Suneo, the children discover Paradapia concealed inside dense thunderclouds. Welcomed by the charming robotic cat Sonya, Nobita and his friends are amazed as Paradapia's ambient light appears to reform their personality flaws, transforming them into polite, obedient model students who never argue or misbehave.
⚠ Background — may contain spoilers
Doraemon deduces that Paradapia is a dystopian mind-control weapon engineered by a mad 22nd-century scientist named Doctor Ray, who uses the floating island's artificial solar rays to brainwash humanity into emotionless thralls. When Doctor Ray orders Sonya to execute Nobita, Sonya's buried memories of companionship awaken, prompting the robot cat to turn against his master. Sonya sacrifices himself by manual-piloting the overloaded energy core into the upper atmosphere, detonating the weapon safely away from Earth. Nobita recovers Sonya's surviving neural memory chip, celebrating his restored, imperfect humanity.
