Studio Sunrise animated this energetic twenty-minute theatrical sports anime featurette, released in Japanese theaters by Toei in July 2002 as part of the Toei Anime Fair. Directed by Shinya Sadamitsu and scripted by Fuyunori Gobu, the short film served as a companion feature to the popular television anime series based on Bandai's customizable motorized toy line. Featuring high-octane mechanical arena clashes, dynamic spin-attack animations, and driving rock themes performed by JAM Project, the theatrical short captivated young hobbyists and dedicated mechanical sports enthusiasts across Japan during the height of the franchise's popularity.
A visually stunning film that got hampered by its runtime and unusual pacing choice for an isekai anime. It's not "Manos: The Hands of Fate" bad, but it's not good either.
