Synopsis
In the arid, wind-swept deserts of the Western Regions during the chaotic twilight years of the tyrannical Sui Dynasty, feared warrior Dao Ma works as an armed mercenary escort, wandering from oasis to oasis with his young toddler son Xiao Qi. After brutally annihilating a band of corrupt imperial bounty hunters, Dao Ma accepts a lucrative contract to safely escort the enigmatic, masked fugitive Zhishi Lang across hostile desert plains to the capital of Chang'an. Pursued by lethal tribal warlords, imperial assassins, and religious fanatics, Dao Ma's blade carves a path through history.
