Synopsis

Deep within a secluded mountain valley sheltered from modern civilization, the isolated community of Baan preserves ancient spiritual rituals marking the transition into adulthood. When a mysterious dimensional fracture weakens the protective boundary separating their village from the spirit realm, childhood companions Ren and Maya are thrust into an arduous mythical trial. Navigating dangerous terrain inhabited by primordial elemental entities and spectral mirages, the young initiates must confront their own hidden fears, making mature sacrifices to restore spiritual balance and preserve their community survival.

Background (may contain spoilers)

Conceived as an original fantasy animated film, *Bâan: The Boundary of Adulthood* was produced by Studio Daisy. Directed by Tomohisa Taguchi with character designs by Masashi Kudo, the theatrical feature weaves together traditional Asian folklore, lush natural environments, and introspective coming-of-age themes. The production highlights striking painterly background artwork, evocative orchestral compositions, fluid elemental combat sequences, and nuanced psychological character development, delivering an atmospheric, culturally grounded cinematic journey for international anime lovers.
