Story

Synopsis

After ten grueling years of fighting inside the apocalyptic Shadow Labyrinth, human civilization is obliterated when the final core destabilizes. Desir Arman, one of the last six surviving magicians, watches the world perish, only to awaken thirteen years in the past as a fresh student at the prestigious Hebrion Academy. Armed with memories of the catastrophe and his unique magic inversion analytical skills, Desir realizes that the academy's strict class discrimination against commoners caused mankind's future extinction. Refusing to repeat history, Desir forms a diverse party of overlooked commoner magicians, training them into elite fighters.

⚠ Background — may contain spoilers
Based on Usonan's hit South Korean web novel and popular webtoon adaptation illustrated by Wookjakga, this anime was animated by Arvo Animation and directed by Taishi Kawaguchi. Broadcasting twelve episodes in fall 2023, the television series featured dynamic magic circle visual effects, tactical spell analyses, and voice work by Takuma Terashima and Sayumi Suzushiro. An official second season was greenlit immediately following the dramatic season finale, ensuring the continued adaptation of the Shadow Labyrinth saga.
