So, nine people stand between humanity and Muzan. Nine. That's the whole plan.

The Hashira are the strongest swordsmen the Demon Slayer Corps has, and ranking them feels like ranking members of a really good band. Gyomei is the drummer holding the whole thing together. Sanemi is the guitarist who will absolutely start a fight in the car park. Shinobu writes the songs nobody realises are the best songs. You see the problem.

Raw strength seems to have an obvious winner. Gyomei Himejima was called the strongest Hashira by the man who trained all of them, and nobody in the series ever argued back. Settled, right? Not quite.

Because Shinobu cannot behead a demon. Physically cannot. She is the weakest Hashira by pure muscle and she still took down an Upper Rank by turning her own body into poison. Is that a weakness, or the most impressive thing anyone in the Corps ever pulled off? Meanwhile Mitsuri looks like the sweetest person in any room and carries eight times a normal human's muscle density.
