Story

Synopsis

Drawn by persistent nocturnal whispers and fractured memories of a sick younger sister she cannot fully recall, magical girl Iroha Tamaki arrives in Kamihama City. Unlike ordinary towns where witches roam in isolation, Kamihama buzzes with unnatural magical currents, harboring enigmatic entities known as Rumors alongside powerful veteran magical girls. Through these stylized animated promotional segments, viewers glimpse Iroha forming alliances with stoic fighter Yachiyo Nanami and other sorceresses. Each visual teaser reveals the perilous hidden truth behind their contractual wishes and the looming existential destiny awaiting every magical girl.

Produced by celebrated animation studio Shaft to promote Aniplex's mobile role-playing game *Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story*, this collection of official animated promotional videos was released between September 2016 and May 2024. Featuring character designs by Ume Aoki and avant-garde witch labyrinth visual direction by Gekidan Inu Curry, the trailers offered fans a glimpse into the expanded universe, ultimately setting the artistic foundation for the full television series adaptation that debuted in 2020.
