Synopsis

A serial bombing campaign draws Mikiya Kokutou into a case involving a girl who can see the future with perfect accuracy, which raises the question of whether anything she foresees can be changed at all. Shiki Ryougi's involvement complicates matters considerably, and the story sits with the problem of free will inside a determined timeline rather than resolving it cleanly. The film functions as an epilogue to the main Garden of Sinners sequence while telling a self-contained story with its own melancholy conclusion. Every prediction raises the question of whether foresight changes anything at all.

⚠ Background — may contain spoilers
Produced by ufotable and adapted from Kinoko Nasu's supplementary Garden of Sinners material, Future Gospel released as a follow-up to the original seven-film series. The franchise established ufotable's reputation for ambitious, visually striking work well before the studio's later Fate and Demon Slayer output. Its dense engagement with death, perception, and predestination has kept it a reference point for viewers seeking anime with genuine philosophical ambition, and this entry is generally regarded as a worthwhile coda for those who finished the original films. Its self-contained structure makes it accessible even within a famously complex franchise.
