Story

Synopsis

Amberground is a land locked in permanent darkness, lit only by an artificial sun that illuminates the capital and leaves everywhere else in dimness where armored insects called Gaichuu hunt travelers. Letter Bees risk their lives carrying mail between isolated towns. Lag Seeing becomes one, searching for Gauche Suede, the Bee who once delivered Lag himself as a package after his mother vanished. Accompanied by an unusual girl he names Niche, he delivers letters and gradually uncovers something rotten at the country's center. Every delivery carries a fragment of someone's heart, which is the world's central conceit.
